The Philadelphia Flyers’ first pick of day two at the 2024 NHL Draft came 51st overall and the Flyers chose to draft Jack Berglund. This 18-year-old Swedish center, who can also adapt to the wing if necessary, stands at an impressive 6’3” and weights in at about 209 pounds.
Berglund spent the 2023-24 season showcasing his skills in Sweden’s top junior league with Farjestad BK. Over the course of 41 games, he scored 15 goals and tallied 19 assists.
When describing his playing style, Berglund characterizes himself as a “big forward” and believes his size is a key asset that allows him to protect the puck.
“I’m a smart player on the ice,” he stated, emphasizing his hockey smarts and ability to make strategic plays.

Hockey runs in the Berglunds’ blood, with his father, Christian Berglund, having had a notable professional career. Christian played primarily in Europe but also had stints in the NHL and AHL during the early 2000s.
Flyers fans should keep an eye on this young prospect as he develops and brings his unique blend of size, skill, and hockey intelligence to the Orange and Black.
