The Philadelphia Flyers will finally kick off their season opener at the Wells Fargo Center against the New Jersey Devils tonight at 7:00pm ET.
This will be Carter Hart’s first game back since April 12th of last year. Hart finished the season with a .905 SV% and a 3.16 GAA, nothing to get excited over. The thing is, entering the All-Star break Hart was tied for 16th among all NHL goalies who played at least 10 games, with a .915 SV%.
Many expect Hart to return to his first half self with a summer to recollect, and a Tortorella system that demands two-way accountability in all zones of the ice. Carter Hart may be the only player on this team who can prove to be an impactful player that sways our record to the respectable medium, because John Tortorella sure doesn’t see anything special with this club yet:
