After the returns of Marc Staal and Rasmus Ristolainen from their respective injuries, Belpedio has not seen any game action since November 19th against Columbus.
Should Belpedio clear waivers, he will be assigned to the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Belpedio skated in 5 games with the Phantoms and recorded 1 assist before his recall to the NHL.
Belpedio has appeared in 12 games this season for the Flyers, registering 2 goals and 2 assists for 4 points to accompany a +6 rating, 14 hits, and 18 blocked shots while averaging 13:12 of ice time per game.
Belpedio’s 12 games mark a single-season high for the Skokie, Illinois native, as he appeared in just 4 NHL contests across 3 different seasons with the Minnesota Wild. The Wild drafted Belpedio in the third round of the 2014 NHL Draft.
Belpedio made his Flyers debut on October 26th against his former club in a 6-2 blowout victory over Minnesota, and head coach John Tortorella praised his performance after that game.
“He’s such a competitor. He has that reputation. I thought he played with a ton of poise.”
Belpedio later scored his first career NHL goal on November 3rd against Buffalo in a 5-1 Philadelphia victory. His goal would stand as the game-winner.

With the Flyers having two Western Conference road trips pop up on the schedule this month, Belpedio could potentially be recalled as insurance in case of injury should he remain with the organization.
