The Philadelphia Flyers will finish off their eight-game homestand tonight when they host the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Flyers are coming off a thrilling 4-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday in front of a full house on national television and are looking to build on that effort. It was Philadelphia’s second win in their last four games.
Meanwhile, the Golden Knights have won three of their last four games and are coming off a last-second 2-1 win at home against the Ottawa Senators on Sunday. New acquisition Jack Eichel rammed home the game winner with 5.2 seconds left to lift Vegas to victory.
Philadelphia’s lineup will look a little different than it did on Saturday. Gerry Mayhew and Nick Seeler will draw in for Max Willman and Kevin Connauton tonight. Mayhew was a healthy scratch on Saturday and has 6 goals in 20 games this season. Seeler has one goal and two assists in 36 games and will replace Connauton, who played on the third pair with Keith Yandle but left the game after a nasty check from behind by Kirby Dach. Connauton was skating at morning skate earlier today though, which is a great sign.

News and Notes:
– This is the second and final meeting between the two teams this season. Philadelphia won the first game 4-3 at T-Mobile Arena back on December 10th behind Max Willman’s first NHL goal and Carter Hart’s 41 saves.
– This is the 8th all-time matchup between the Flyers and Golden Knights, with the Flyers holding a slight 4-3-0 edge in the series.
– Vegas has not visited Wells Fargo Center since October 21st, 2019 when the Flyers dominated from start to finish and won 6-2. Michael Raffl led the Flyers with 3 points and Brian Elliott made 33 saves in the victory.
– Carter Hart is gunning for his 60th win as a Flyer tonight. Should he succeed, he will tie Robert Esche for 15th all-time in franchise history in wins.
– Former Flyer Nolan Patrick will not be in the lineup against his former team tonight. He was on the receiving end of a dirty hit to the head by Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon back on February 16th and has not played since.
– The newly reunited FAB Line was firing on all cylinders Saturday and will be dangerous again tonight. Joel Farabee, Cam Atkinson, and Derick Brassard were the Flyers’ best trio, racking up a combined 3 goals and 4 assists. That includes two tallies from Atkinson, who leads Philadelphia with 20 goals this year.
– Speaking of Cam Atkinson, he’s the first Flyer to reach 20 goals this year and with that, he has recorded his first 20+ goal season since 2018-19 when he recorded a career-high 41 with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
