Forward Morgan Frost and the Philadelphia Flyers have reportedly agreed to a two-year contract worth $4.2 million ($2.1 million AAV).
Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman was the first to report on Frost’s situation on Wednesday.
Hearing one of the remaining RFAs, Philadelphia’s Morgan Frost, is closing in on an extension with the Flyers. Sounds like 2 years, slightly above $2M-ish AAV.

Frost was tendered a qualifying offer by the organization on June 14th, but an official deal between the sides couldn’t be constructed until now.
The Flyers will maintain Frost’s signing rights at the end of the contract as well, as he will become only a restricted free agent with a qualifying offer of $2.4 million in 2025.
After signing Morgan Frost to a 2 year / $2.1M AAV contract, we now show the #Flyers with a projected cap hit of $82,632,095 based on an active roster of 22 players (12F-7D-3G).

It is believed that Frost’s camp wanted a long-term contract while the Flyers opted for a bridge deal, which is what was ultimately agreed to.
Frost’s inconsistent beginning of the 2022-23 season likely shied the Flyers away from committing to Frost more, though he did record 40 of his career-high 46 points in the final 54 games of the season. Brière and company want to see Frost stay consistent and shine, and maybe his full potential will be reached as soon as this season.
After signing a one-year, $800,000 contract on July 15th, 2022, Frost appeared in 81 games for Philadelphia, registering new career-highs with 19 goals and 27 assists for 46 points while averaging 16:20 of ice time per game.
The former first-round pick from the 2017 NHL Draft really solidified himself as an NHL player this past season and will look to build on that, and he should be a key factor in the Flyers’ offense over these next two seasons.
Frost, a native of Aurora, Ontario, has recorded 26 goals and 43 assists for 69 points in 158 career NHL contests, all with the Flyers.
