Philadelphia Flyers forward Kevin Hayes will be heading to the 2023 NHL All-Star Game in Sunrise, Florida on February 4th. This will be Hayes’ first appearance in the All-Star Game.
Hayes is in the middle of a pretty solid season for Philadelphia, notching 9 goals and 23 assists for 32 points in 37 games heading into tonight’s game against the Arizona Coyotes.
Hayes’ assist total is at the top of the leaderboard for the Flyers, and he sits second on the team in points (Travis Konecny – 23) and third in goals (Konecny – 19, Owen Tippett – 12). The 30-year-old Dorchester, Massachusetts native is currently on pace to break his career-highs in assists (32 in 2016-17) and points (49 in 2016-17).
Hayes now joins Cam Atkinson (2017, 2019) and Travis Konecny (2020) as being the only All-Stars on the Philadelphia roster.
Hayes is part of the Metropolitan Division squad that currently also features Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin, Penguins forward Sidney Crosby, Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau, Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov, Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin, Devils forward Jack Hughes, and Islanders forward Brock Nelson.
The first 32 All-Star selections were revealed tonight, and fans will have the opportunity to decide the remaining 12 spots that are up for grabs. Two skaters and one goaltender in each division will be voted in by fans to fill out the rosters and voting is currently open on the league website or fans can tweet, retweet or quote tweet any tweets containing #NHLAllStarVote along with their favorite player’s name.
