Montreal Awaits: Create Lasting Memories with Brian Propp

I fell in love with the Flyers at nine years old when my father took me to my first hockey game. There was something captivating about watching professional athletes stickhandle a puck while skating around each other—trying to score while skillfully avoiding a massive body check.

That first year of hockey for me was 1996-1997, which took my father and me on an unforgettable adventure all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals against the Detroit Red Wings. Despite getting swept, I was hooked. Playoff hockey is unmatched in sports. I imagined it must have felt like Rome’s Coliseum during the days of the gladiators.

For the next 26 years, I continued attending games with my father. Hockey and the Philadelphia Flyers became a part of my soul, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Philly Sports Trips, in partnership with Flyers Nation, hosted a Ticket & Tailgate event at MetLife Stadium for the 2024 Flyers vs. Devils Stadium Series game. Over 200 Flyers fans joined us, including Philadelphia Hockey Hall of Fame legend Brian Propp. Propp—whose name I’d heard countless stories about from my father during our drives to games—was now seated next to me. We shared the same back-and-forth banter I once had with my father, pretending to be coaches on the team. It’s funny how the world works.

I’m looking forward to experiencing this all over again in April when Propp joins us in Montreal for our first Flyers international trip. This time, I’m bringing my father to the game. Over the years, I’ve heard so many heartfelt stories from families who’ve thanked me for providing them with unforgettable memories through Philly Sports Trips. Now, I’m excited to create one of my own this April.
