Philadelphia Flyers forward Morgan Frost was removed very early from Tuesday night’s 6-1 thrashing of the New Jersey Devils. He entered COVID-19 protocols after he was pulled, according to Flyers interim head coach Mike Yeo.
Frost only logged 1:12 of ice time in the first period before he was pulled from the game. The former first-round pick wasn’t injured during the game so people were confused as to why he left, but Yeo confirmed the reasoning in his postgame press conference.
Frost is just one of a multitude of NHL players who have entered COVID-19 protocols today, and the number of players that have been effected has been growing at an alarming rate.
Before being removed today, Frost had racked up four points in his previous nine games since being recalled from AHL Lehigh Valley.
It remains to be seen if Frost tested positive or was just deemed a close contact to somebody. Regardless, we hope Morgan is okay and is back on the ice quickly.
