The Philadelphia Flyers have reportedly signed goaltending prospect, Alexei Kolosov to his entry-level contract.

Kolosov was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft and was signed to a 3-year deal with an annual cap hit of $925,000. The Belarusian-native has a base salary of $832,000, a salary bonus of $92,000, and a minor league salary of $80,000, according to CapFriendly.

Kolosov is coming off his 3rd campaign in the KHL with 2022-23 being his first full season with 22 games being played in 2021-22 and 9 games being played in 2020-21. Playing for his hometown-team in Dinamo Minsk, he posted a 2.55 GAA and a .912 SV% while sporting a 13-21-5 record in 42 games. In 3 playoff games he held a 3.08 GAA and .917 SV%.
The previous season he went 11-9-1 with a 2.90 GAA and a .906 SV% in 22 games and in 2020-21 – his draft year – he went 3-5-1 with a 2.69 GAA and a .911 SV% for Minsk in 9 games. He also played 12 games for Dinamo-Molodechno of the Belarusian Extraleague and posted nearly identical peripherals with a 2.23 GAA and a .915 SV%.
The Kolosov signing comes on the same day and only hours after the KHL had overstepped the line ever so slightly by assigning Ivan Fedotov to CSKA Moscow even though the goaltender had an NHL contract they had to abide by in principle.
Kolosov currently stands pretty high in the pecking order of goaltending prospects for the Flyers behind only Samuel Ersson and Felix Sandström. The 21-year-old stands in at 6’0” and 185 pounds and should be making his way to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL sometime down the line, perhaps sooner than expected.
