The Philadelphia Flyers have placed forward Wade Allison on injured reserve.
Allison suffered his injury during Saturday’s 4-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators. He went to finish a check on Senators defenseman Jacob Bernard-Docker and immediately crumpled to the ice in pain after the hit.
Absolutely awful.

It is unclear how long Allison will be out of the lineup with his injury, which the Flyers have not publicly disclosed yet. He seemed to be favoring his right hip area as he was down, but again, the extent of his injury or even the exact injury itself is unknown for now.
Allison had recorded three goals and an assist in 14 games this season to accompany a +4 rating and six penalty minutes. The 25-year-old Carman, Manitoba native has been plagued by the injury bug in recent years, including being limited to just one game with Philadelphia and 28 games with Lehigh Valley last season because of them, but he seemed to fit right into the lineup this season before this latest setback.
In Allison’s absence, the Flyers recalled forward Max Willman from the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms while sending down forward Tanner Laczynski to the Phantoms. Forward Patrick Brown was also sent to the Phantoms for a conditioning stint and will rejoin the Flyers in the near future.
Brown has been recovering from offseason back surgery and has not appeared in a game since April 12th, 2022. He racked up four goals and five assists for nine points in 44 contests for the Flyers last year after he was claimed off waivers from the Vegas Golden Knights.
Laczynski had played in 12 games this season with Philadelphia, racking up two assists. He appeared in 28 games for the Phantoms last season, potting seven goals and ten assists for 17 points and he made one appearance with the Flyers as well on April 13th, 2022.
Willman will wear his usual #71 and will be available for the Flyers’ upcoming three-game road trip against Columbus, Boston, and Montréal. He has posted two goals and two assists for four points in 11 contests with the Phantoms this year. Willman made his NHL debut with the Flyers last year on October 15th, 2021 against Vancouver and went on to skate in 41 games for Philadelphia, notching four goals and two assists during the 2021-22 season.
